Summary
The Rainbow Revue opened on South 1st Street in September 1991, operated by Wade Twamley, and directly succeeded the Leaded Shade II in the same space. Its grand-opening weekend featured drag entertainment and a Mr. and Miss Rainbow contest, and the bar offered frequent shows along with a restaurant. Like several earlier bars at the location, it was short-lived, becoming the 1100 Club by February 1992.
Photo albums documenting the bar, assembled by Wade Twamley, were later donated to the UWM Archives' LGBT Collection.
