1100 Club
Milwaukee
Summary
1100 Club was a Milwaukee bar that operated from 1994 to 2003 at the corner of First and East Washington Streets. Although it was not a traditional levi/leather venue like the Wreck Room or Boot Camp, it became a favored gathering place for the city's leather community, hosting numerous shows and leather title contests. Its role grew especially after the Wreck Room closed in 1996. While the official address faced First Street, patrons most often used the side entrance on East Washington Street.
The bar was run by co-owners Bob Minzloff and Mike Petri. In mid-1996, reports circulated that the business was closing, but the owners explained that they were purchasing the building and the brief shutdown was only to refinish the floors and complete remodeling. The 1100 Club went on to operate for roughly seven more years.
