Biography
Tony Machi took over Milwaukee's Riviera cocktail lounge around 1951, operating it as "Tony's Riviera," regarded as the city's premier gay bar of the 1950s, until a fire destroyed it in 1964. He later opened other Milwaukee venues, including the live-music spot that became Teddy's. He died in 2022 at age 100.
