Biography
Rick Kowal (Richard Kowal) co-founded the Ball Game, a Milwaukee gay bar, with Gene O'Brien in 1974. After O'Brien's death in 1985, Kowal continued to operate the bar on his own for nearly three decades until it closed in 2012, making it one of the longest-running gay bars in Wisconsin. He died in 2020.
