Scooters opened at 411 Galloway Street in Eau Claire on January 3, 1997 under owner Wayne Marek, who also operated venues elsewhere in the state. Early ads sometimes shared space with the Trading Company; by late 1997 new owners Jody and Dave ran the bar as a standalone LGBTQ club.
