Riviera Show Lounge

The Riviera Show Lounge, located on South 2nd Street in the former Nite Beat space, held its grand opening on June 30, 1972 with a female-impersonator revue called 'The Dolly Review.' The lounge promised a new production each weekend, presented in partnership with a group billed as A.G.C. Productions. The bar is remembered as a center of Milwaukee's drag community, hosting the Miss Gay Milwaukee contest in 1972. It appears to have lasted only a year or two before the location changed hands.
