Finale

Milwaukee

Summary

Finale was an east-side Milwaukee gay bar opened in 1975 by partners Earl and Frank Thalacker. Remembered as a friendly neighborhood bar that also drew patrons citywide, it expanded into the rear of its building in early 1976 to add a dancing area and was known for costume and holiday parties. Co-owner Frank Thalacker left in 1980 to open the Shadows bar, and the Finale was sold in 1983 to former bartender Bobby Schendel. The bar closed in January 1986 after a fire gutted the building.
