The Cove

1st Street in the early 1970s. It first advertised in early 1972 as "Mickey's Cove," was soon shortened to "The Cove," and briefly operated as "The Backroom" before reverting to "The Cove." Promoted as a party bar with dancing, live bands, and go-go dancers, it disappeared from advertising by spring 1973. It was listed once in a national gay bar guide, the 1974 Bob Damron guide.
